How I Think About
Science Communication

No Corners Cut

Accessible doesn't mean wrong. I refuse to oversimplify to the point of inaccuracy, at least not without telling you. Every explainer is checked against the actual physics, even when that makes the audience think.

The Chalkboard is the Message

I use a green chalkboard as a background because that's where real (theoretical) physics happens. It's not a gimmick, it's a commitment to showing people what scientific work actually looks like. The particular background used in most of my videos is actual scratch work used during my doctoral work.

Engagement Over Performance

I'm not trying to go viral (although it helps if I do!). I love teaching, and in the current era of brainrot content, it seems that the most effective way to do it involves short lessons.

Science Literacy is Non-Negotiable

The same drive that puts me in front of a chalkboard explaining, say, Gauss' theorema egregium also puts me in debates with flat earthers and young earthers. Both matter. A scientifically literate public is worth fighting for.
